In this class, we will discuss playground liability issues. In 2018, there was a $20 million jury verdict in favor of a teenager who was injured at a Las Vegas HOA playground. The amount of this verdict was in excess of the insurance coverage available to the Association. We will discuss playground inspection issues, ways to limit liability, insurance issues, and common sources of injury, according to a certified playground inspector. We will also briefly address how to deal with emergencies when a dangerous condition is noted but there is no time to repair it immediately.
