Associations were not the only group vilified in the 2020 legislative session. Colorado towing companies were taken to task through House Bill 22-1314, which impacted community associations that tow vehicles. In this class, we will discuss the parts of HB 22-1314 applicable to community associations and what they now require. We will also discuss the impact of HB 22-1139, which although a very brief statute, has wide ranging implications for associations that previously regulated conduct on public rights-of-way. We believe that the "RV storage lot lobby" missed a great opportunity to advocate on behalf of its members because this new law might greatly diminish their business. For those owners who moved into a community with parking restrictions on public streets, be prepared to look at vehicles out your front window.
